I have two modern Lionel air whistles (circuit board and can motor) and I'd like to put one into my Williams N&W J class.  Problem is, neither work right.  One doesn't do anything, the other just whistles constantly when power is applied (no I'm not using a DC transformer).  Is there any way to fix them, or does somebody have a circuit board for one that they don't need?  I'm not very good when it comes to pinpointing issues with circuit board components, so you'll have to be specific if there's a fix.  Not sure what part would cause it to whistle constantly.

There are two resistors, two capacitors and I believe a transistor(?).  I think that's all the parts that are there.

It came out of a 1990's NYC Flyer 4-4-2 tender.

The one that doesn't work was inside of a tender made out of spare parts that came with a PW 2037 steamer we bought.  It wasn't wired to anything when we got it.

Looks like Boxcar Bill has the PCB board.  I sent him an email about it, so I'll see what he has to say.  If he's got it, I'll probably just buy a new board.

Before you do, make sure the dc motor works on the one that is not running.  Use a 9V battery to test.  G

I tested the motor a long time ago when I was messing with it.  It does work.

Boxcar bill is sending me a transistor to try.  If it doesn't work, I'm just going to buy the whole board.
