I don't think 1:43 stuff is going to work.  Hopefully Lionel is bringing all-plastic 1:48 modern cars for us, because this thing is going to be heavy when its loaded up.

I have a 1:50 2003 F-150 I can try out tonight.  I'll post a pic if it works.

If Lionel doesn't come throught with the 1:48 autos, it will be tough to load these cars up.

Yeap, I have to... unless i get that upper level 3 rail going..........na, that's just for steamers!

I would load this up with cars but I wouldn't run it that way. Just for display maybe. I wouldn't want them shifting inside. too much work for just that????

I'm tempted to just add the new long shank KDs glued to the bottom once the wheels get changed. Trouble is Lionel changed out the trucks. I thought they were to be spinners. Now, I'm mad too! I need some smaller wheelsets.

Loved reading this post, and love the new autorack cars...

I plan to use some stick on led weights (as used in r/c airplanes) to add some weight to these cars.  It looks like there is plenty of room to add weights low and under the car, so these can track better in long trains.

Even with the issues mentioned, these cars really delivered.  Finally real autoracks in 1:48th scale!  I cant wait for more of these!

Does that make sense??

Oh yeah.. I get you now.  When I read your post I thought you were referring to the engine in the Motor City set and not my video.  Sorry, it's just a pictorial.  Figured you guys didn't need to hear me blabbering.

Yes, but you would think they would have at least explained what happened and/or apologized.

Has Lionel communicated anything about the nonworking LED to anyone?  Did they say they will fix it on future sets?

It looks good Charlie, 5 pages of fussin over something so easy to fix.

Yes I do agree that Lionel should have done this in the first place. But they didn't.

Last night when we were running trains we had a mix of the MTH and the new Lionel autoracks in the same unit train. I took a few pictures of them but as I looked at them today I noticed a couple of things. It looks to me that the new Lionel Autoracks frame runs lower than the Mth does. I think you can see it in the pictures. Also the total height of the Lionel looks to me to be less than the MTH. In the pictures the Blue is on the MTH GTW and the Brown is on the Lionel CN.
