Does anyone know if lionel is making the BNSF oil train? I don't see it on their shipping schedule and I know they recently cancelled some items but didn't see this listed.

As far as I know there still making it. I have one on order.
I don’t understand why half of the tank cars in the BNSF oil train set are colored white... I see several BNSF oil trains each week and 100% of the tank cars are black. That’s why I didn’t order the set.
Yeah it's a cool set, but they definitely went with the exception rather than the rule.

Interesting observation. I ordered the set, but I probably won't run it as a set. I have plenty of black tank cars to build an even longer train using the engine and hoppers. Real oil trains do have white tanks mixed in from time to time.
I hope they didn’t cancel it, I have one on order!!!
Granted the black cars are more common, but when the consist of white tanks does come through it looks really cool. I was glad for the white set. You could buy individual locos and the black cars offered.
99% sure, it won't be cancelled. All the cancellations thus far are not from the high end products. Also this was BTO, if I'm not mistaken. Furthermore, all the pieces in the set are already being produced in other paint schemes. I think we are safe!
Here in South Jersey I travel through Delaware City a lot and the OIL refinery there has WHITE and black cars. Seems there are more white anymore than black. All oil is brought to the refinery to be refined then goes out by ship, truck and Rail!
I hope so Elliot. This is the only set I wanted from the catalog. I also ordered an extra set of the white tank cars and a dummy BNSF engine. Now I am thinking about adding the black tank cars to the set......Paul

I hope so too. I ordered a powered BNSF engine back in January as well. I caught a BNSF oil train doing a crew change at a CSX yard in Cheektowaga, NY (not sure how that train ended up this Far East) last night and all the tank cars were black. Seeing it made me want to try and find a set when they come out.

I'd just say relax guys. Just because the set didn't show up on a shipping list, doesn't really mean much. Those lists are frequently wrong, as we all know. I put a little more faith in the cancellation list and the fact that the set wasn't on it.
Making a guess here after applying a little common sense to the situation, and saying that we should see it when the other ES44AC's come out.
I'm in this boat with you.
