Folks,
I took these this morning while at the NJ HiRailers and I wanted to share them with you. Besides building a great engine Lionel went to the next level to protect your investment by taking the packaging up a notch. Actually, a few notches.
When you open the box you need to remove the tender first along with all the other items, traction tires, memory module, etc. because in order to get the engine out of the styrofoam you will need to turn it on its side.
Then turn the styrofoam on its side, engine side downs and as close to the table as possible. Put a towel or some sort of cushion under the / near the engine for added protection.
Before you start the engine remove al process - get / have a small Phillips head screw driver handy.
Insert into the small plastic caps and remove the screws that hold the engine in place. The engine weights a good 10 + pounds so be careful and go slow.
Takes a few minutes but this is a fantastic way to keep the engines from bouncing around during shipment to consumers as well as for transportation to your club layout or a friends place.
Great job by Lionel.
