Look through them excitedly, when they first come out, for all the new goodies.

Read them.
Read and store them. Periodically pull out and read and reflect on the good old days. I have one or more copies of each one from the 50’s to present day, all in mint condition, and my time frame of the train hobby. Just another train collectible.

Although after collecting the Lionel and other brands of trains catalogs for over 60 years, it’s still exciting to get the next ones coming out. To me, they are a hobby in itself. I have been collecting these Dream books since 1947, each catalog has a special memory. Great thread, it’s the best Hobby in the World. Happy Railroading Everyone
I keep a copy of each one. 1940s forward. I have some K-Line's but not all.
I had Lionel catalogs from 1950 through present day and they sat in a drawer, untouched for decades. I sold them in groups on Ebay since the LCCA website provides digitized versions of catalogs, service manuals and other Lionel publications
I eagerly await the printed version after reading through the digital, then store them in my library for future reference. The saved catalogs come in handy when maybe looking to buy an item from years past.
While I know I can read all prior Lionel catalogs on the LCCA site, there is just something special about turning the "actual" paper pages...

You can print them all out, kinda' expensive, but an option.
