I've asked this before and was told by Lionel it was being worked on.  Wondering if a list of modern era Lionel engines that require more than one smoke fill location has ever been released?  This issue arises from the confusion with the Legacy three truck Shays where the manual was written incorrectly.

As time passes without such a list it makes it difficult to know what's under the shell on some of these engines.

Perhaps someone else or @Dave Olson will have some information on this.

Thanks.

John, wasn't there one engine that the manual omitted the whistle steam hole to fill? I want to say maybe the first set of 10 Wheelers or something around that time if they had it. I think they did. I seem to remember a conversation on that exact topic as to where to fill for the whistle steam?

Besides that, manual is the best bet for anything pertaining to any engine. If further questions after that, contact Lionel I would say.
