Bought a Wi-Fi LCS module at York in October and set it up today and can’t open either of these apps. What can I do to open the apps

What do you mean "open the apps"? Do you have an iPhone or iPad? I don't know that the LCS app run on an iPhone, and I've heard that the iCab needs an iPhone or some tweak to the iPad configuration to load on it.
I had no problem loading the LCS app on my iPad and using it, I've never tried the iCab since I don't have an iPhone and have no plans to get one.
I have a I phone 14+ and an iPad ninth generation and neither of the apps will open. If I click on the app it momentarily shows the Home Screen and then closes
I have a second generation iPad and the newest one currently sold in the Apple store. The LCS app works fine on both. Never tried to put the iCab app on an iPad. Never tried to put the LCS app on an iPhone.
The LCS app opens fine even when the the Wireless is not on. The link in the upper right just stays red.
There is an LCS thread here that might attract some attention.

Read the whole thread and it was no help
It would seem that my experience is unique

You are not alone Bob....same issue here with my I Phone. Opens for a second or two and then off.
Dave
Good to know that it’s not just me. These are the first apps that have not opened for me never even heard of this before
Bob - what model/generation is your iPad?
Note that iCab only works on iPhone
LCS only works on iPad

Dave, will we be able to use the new base3 app on the iPad?
Thanks for your reply Dave. My Ipad is the ninth generation with IOS 16.7.2 and my IPhone is14. Plus
This morning I downloaded the apps on my wife’s iPhone and I pad and they both worked. So now I surmise there is a problem with my iPhone and I pad. Will go thru the settings on both devices and see if there is a problem with them
I actually have iCab working on my iPad. The iPad does allow some iPhone apps to work but an app for iPad typically doesn't work on iPhone.
Very strange that it doesn’t work on your devices - did you get a little popup dialog box asking for permission to connect to local network devices?
No pop ups . The apps just close after clicking on the app the app Home Screen opens then closes within a second

It comes up the first time you ran the app. If you tap don’t allow it can’t connect to anything on your local network
The odd thing is it works on my wife’s IPhone and Ipad both apps
When I say both apps I mean the icab app works on her iPhone and the lCS app works on her iPad and I have used both
Had a pleasant Thanks Giving meal with my family and shockingly my children and son-in-law fixed the problem with both apps. The issue was in accessibility under settings, bold text was turned off. Now both apps work. Nice 👍 job kids
Apps. The way of the future…
It would probably help if they would update their apps
Nice. The apps could be so much better if they hired someone to make a ui that was realistic to the engine you were controlling. Ie you control a steam engine and it has controls like a steam engine would, a diesel like a GEVO would have a more modern cab with controls like the real engine. Obviously this would work better on an iPad - but just duplicating the cab 2 buttons on a touch screen is pretty lame. Could increase the play factor for kids too.
