Good Day Lionel,
I’d like to see the Auto Carrier in S Scale.
Regards,
Swafford

Good idea!
Plus, there is a floatilla of freight cars in the O gauge arsenal that Lionel could translate nicely into S.
I'm hoping to see the UP caboose and PS1 boxcar in the near future.

Swafford,
Looks good to me! I would love to see these made. I guess if I get to dream then I would aslo like to offer the following criteria:
1. True scale dimensions and bolster locations
2. Etched Metal for the side panels and possibly detail parts
3. Die-cast chassis
4. Metal Trucks/Wheels/Couplers
5. Working End Doors
6. Accurate underbody detailing
7. Provision for a Kadee coupler
I think the only problem is that if done to my wishes, you may have trouble with them going around traditional 20" flyer curves and in crossovers since they would be a whoppin' big car.
These would look great behind the new SD-70s for sure. Definitely not for the Flyer 20" curves though. I'm thinking these would need 40r before they start looking good. There sure are a lot of options for Lionel. I would like to see them scale down the wonderful Pullman Standard freight cars that they do in O, but I know there are going to be a lot of people looking for more modern cars to pull behind their new ACEs later this year.
How do the 0-27 auto racks measure up in S? Lionel produced a lot of them and they were sized for hotwheels type autos..

I saw some that were converted at an S Fest many moons ago. As I recall, they had to be narrowed about 1/4" and the trucks moved inward. While not 100% scale, overall the conversion didn't look too bad.

Interesting! I've seen 3 rail guys try and scale these up for O, but not down to S. I know 3r adn 2r O gaugers have been asking for this type of car for years. How about this: Offer the car in both O scale and S. Lately, I have been wondering if this type of strategy was where the industry may be headed.
Husky stacks are at the top (or nearly so) of any list of new rolling stock intended for modern prototype railroading.

Good Day,
Auto Carriers and Husky Stacks are tops in my book. These cars would make for a fantastic presentation in S Scale. Offer two versions of the Auto Carriers and Husky Stack cars.
Version 1 for Hi-Rail Wheels
Version 2 with Scale Wheels and Coupler pockets for Kadee couplers
I’m ready to buy when they supply!

Swafford

I would also like to see some 89' screen auto racks from Lionel along with some double stack well cars and maybe some 57' reefers. Some aluminum centerflow hoppers and die cast 100T coal hoppers from the O scale line would also be a nice addition.

I have five husky stack well cars from S-Scale America and they can easily negotiate the 29" radius S-Helper curves. They will negotiate a sharper curve if no container is present but the wheels hit the containers on sharper radius curves. Note I have to use scale wheel sets to achieve this. Definitely no Flyer curves for these cars!
