I am in the process of trying to put in a new seuthe unit for smoke. I have the stack torn apart and looks like I can figure out how I want to mount and hopefully wire the seuthe unit. My question is how many drops of smoke fluid do you put in these units? I seem to have cooked one in a caboose and I don't want that to happen with this unit. Please advise. And thanks.

Measure the resistance of the Seuthe smoke unit.  A 6V Seuthe smoke unit typically will be between 8 and 10 ohms cold.  The 12V-14 volt one I have measures 30 ohms.  They run on AC or DC equally well.

Regular smoke fluid is fine.

Truthfully, if I were upgrading the smoke stack, I'd be considering a fan driven smoke unit.  Another option would be this fog generator, they're only a couple of bucks and use plain water.

OK thanks John food for thought.
