Please NO negative posting  within this topic. I am making a simple proposal to Lionel, Atlas and MTH. You see issues with past product. How about finding out how much to manufacture a replacement part, then doing a BTO on that part.

simple solutions are best, this is not Apollo. We are not going to the moon. We are not building the lunar Lem

First, I think you need to retitle this thread. It reads like "Lionel issued open letter" but in the present tense.

How about "Open letter to Lionel on product issues" instead?

Second, what parts have been at issue that a simple BTO would make people happy? Most of the issues I've encountered or read about here are paint color, poorly designed gearboxes, and random detail parts that break off in shipping.

The first two aren't likely to have a "single part" that fixes anyone's issues. The latter probably aren't going to have enough of any one type to make a full order.

I am not talking about paint color or this part broke off. I am talking about people taking Trains out of boxes and having side frames, dissolve, electronics, obsolete before their time. There are plenty of parts Lionel could build just like Atlas could and MTH. It’s just a question of wanting to.
