Can you power the Lionel Legacy System with D.C. instead of A.C. Thank You, Shylo

No!
I did hook it up to D.C. earlier and it ran great. What is the problem with D.C. Thank You, shylo
Lionel specifically specifies AC, and not all Legacy will run properly on DC. The risk is yours.
Why would you want to in the first place?
Curiosity. I noticed that Lionel Postwar engines ran better on D.C. and I was curious about Legacy Engines. Shylo

Shouldn’t make a difference as the legacy engines rectify the AC to DC to run the can motors
Interesting, Thanks, Shylo
Just because the motor is DC and the locomotive electronics rectifies the track power for that DC motor as stated above, that does not mean ALL components on the locomotive are designed and/or unharmed by DC track power. AC has been the 3 rail O gauge convention for over a century.
Second, TMCC & Legacy command control signals REQUIRE AC track power and in some cases can be damaged by DC.

Go ahead and risk your expensive components for what reason? Just because the locomotive moves under DC in a test of yours, that does not mean the Legacy transceiver components in the locomotive are unharmed.
As @superwarp1 stated, the motors are already getting DC anyways, so just follow the AC standard.
Very good points. Appreciate all the reply's! Thank You, Shylo
