Just bought an engine used bought the module won't load. Has anyone encountered this and do you know what a new module costs or if you can get one.

You could contact Lionel but you can also enter all the info manually.

Sometimes modules get stubborn and need a little "coaxing". If a no go, you can order a module from us. All memory modules are 691MMXXXXX (XXXXX is the 5-digit product number for the item).

As Marty says, you can enter all the information manually, it's just a bit more work. 
I can't remember, I think it was the legacy mikados, that were delivered with blank modules wasn't it?
I know you can enter manually but I don't think the engine specific buttons like the Rule button come up without the module so you are losing some things without it unless I am mistaken.
Use the LSU software and add them in.
