Lionel Legacy Powermaster | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Hi Everyone

I have a 180 Watt Lionel Powerhouse power supply, if i got a Lionel Legacy Powermaster (6-37146) and pluged the powerhouse into the powermaster run wires from the powermaster to the track and got a Lionel Cab 1L remote Controller (6-37155) will i be able to control the powermaster with the Cab 1L remote in conventional mode only (No command control) and then wait til the Cab 3 comes out later this year ? will i be able to operate the trains in conventional mode this way without a Cab 1L base ?

Unfortunately, no. The Legacy Powermaster is controlled via the command base.

OTOH, the TMCC Powermaster is controlled directly by the Cab-1…but I don’t know if the Cab-1L will communicate with the TMCC Powermaster.

Here's the hint (highlighted here in yellow) that tells us that you need the Base-1L too, as found in the Legacy PowerMaster's User's Manual:
