Are ALL THREE of the people in your avatar happy with this announcement?

Catalogs later this month but they will put this information on their website with pictures. Locos will ship before we get the catalog. I do not understand it either.

I am just glad we are getting products earlier in the year. Lately it seems like everything ships in December no matter when it is announced. This is a big improvement to me.

WOW!  Talk about making hay while the sun shines!  Lionel is really taking advantage of their competition's inability to offer new steam engines.  Seventeen new locos in this notice and 5 or 6 before (Christmas).  Twenty two steam engines is more than they usually announce is three catalogs.  AND TWO OF THEM IN SOUTHERN!  They are really going after my money.

Happy Railroading,

Don

LOL, I couldn't help but chuckle to myself on your post announcing Lionel items while noticing your avatar has Mike Wolf in it.   Now that's funny, wonder what both Mike and Jerry would think of that?

We really like both manufacturers products. I think our sales are about equal of each. I can not imagine any store that would just sell one. I am just proud that Mike Wolf visited our store. Come on down to Georgia Jerry!

It sure made my day Don.

There was only one version of the 9000 series locomotive.

It'll be interesting to see if this reissue is upgraded to the VL.

Its a great engine to watch running but requires wide curves.  One thing for sure, if it is VL, it sure better have a working Gresley valve on the front pilot and not the static  gear on the previous release.

How is Lionel shipping all this steam and MTH is seemingly absent?

The ceo of lionel  has videos on lionel site said they moved to the same factory that makes the diecast nascar cars (use to be action). I bet this has something to do with them being able to make more trains..

I just returned from my LHS.  They got the e-mail on the Yellowstones at 5:30 last night.

I ordered the Yellowstone in B&O EM-1 roadname (that doesn't really matter since everything on my layout is re-done as either UP or ATSF).

Interesting: the product number was 6-11337.  As of two minutes ago it was not listed in Lionel's shipping schedule and the Lionel website search engine pulls up nothing, however, a Google search for Lionel 6-11337 just now returned this hit:

http://www.lionel.com/customer...rch&startRow=201

which takes you to the Lionel documents website page, where, listed about mid-page, is the Owner's Manual for this loco, labeled "11/12."

I have an older 4-12-2 and so I'm passing on that.  The two diesels also.  No doubt when the catalog comes out in a week or two there will be more to want . . .
