I opened it up yesterday.

Sweet set, Brooklyn. Yep, that room is going to be full with trains soon. Then, before you know it, Brooklyn will be moving to the Island in search of a house with a big basement, LOL! You and PDX have caught the train bug and are hooked, big time!

Thanks! I definitely caught the bug! Living room “layout “ will be expanding today! I bought a few goodies that I’ll be setting up later. More pics and videos will be coming soon!
That's a cool set! Looks like they built a lot of detail into it.
The Long Island Railroad is 175 years old?
That's a lot like the train I rode to Hofstra in the 70s! I think, technically, it's a different Motorcar, it still looks the same.
This is a sweet set Brooklyn. This is the older set, right, and not the LionChief one? Runs with transformer? From what I hear it is more robust than the newer LIRR sets. Very cool.
BTW, a tip: if you shoot phone video with the phone turned sideways we get a better view of the train :-)

Thanks! Yes this is the older one from 2009. There is no Bluetooth, it runs off the transformer. Also yes it is bigger than the newer sets. Thank you for the tip on the video, I’ll do that moving forward. I want to try to record good quality videos.
