I HIGHLY doubt those cars -- as well as the 6-25623 two-pack -- have shipped yet.  With an ETA ship date of May 2013, that would imply dealers would have them in early June.  And the Charles Ro website does indicate an ETA of 6/10/2013.

But realistically... these cars have been delayed NUMEROUS times for the past two years.  So I'm not gonna believe any date until I actually see them with my own eyes.

I guess the one silver lining to the long delay here is that Lionel has FINALLY catalog'd a bunch of new 18" aluminum passenger cars in their latest catalog.  And one could only hope that they wouldn't be doing that if they didn't see a light at the end of the tunnel for their long-overdue backlog of 18" aluminum passenger car offerings from prior catalogs.

A TON of stuff is queued up for delivery in early June... so we'll know soon enough if these jewels will be part of the newest shipments.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least if these cars were delayed again for several months or even into early next year.  There's clearly been a supplier issue regarding the scheduling and production of 18" aluminum passenger cars for a couple of years now.  but the fact that Lionel catalog'd a few new sets gives us hope that those issues may be behind them now.

I have no doubt that these cars will be splendid when they arrive.  The MR set catalog'd with the 261/265/267 steamers may be the first in Lionel's 18" passenger cars to feature a full-length dome car as well as a sky-top, glass-backed observation car.  Worth the wait for sure!

As for the dates on the website shipping schedule?  Pure fantasy, as we've seen before.  But who knows... perhaps this time?  Nah...

Silicone works great if you want to attach them permanently. It's flexible and fills the gap. If you want the people to be removable, either the putty you use for sticking posters to the wall (I use a brand called museum putty) or various double-sided adhesive spots are good. The new Beep People from RMT are the same molds as the old K-Line passengers with different paint jobs.

Just gorgeous... now I have to figure out how to glue those little people down in the cars!
