No not really. It takes a little work as Rob shows but the manuals are still free for download. I suspect $10 is the going rate for the hard copy.
Seems like many of the older instructions/documents are not available, or at least not yet. Especially items before the five digit PN change in 1987. I had saved from the older support site a bunch of manuals and part lists for many older items in this time frame, so far have not been able to find the majority of them on the new website.
On the bright side of things, if you need an instruction sheet for a Postwar 5F test set, that's not a problem:

I was able to download the manual for the C&O yellow belly Hudson from 1996 or 1997 about 2 months ago.
Guys, I thought the same thing, but I followed Rob's advice in the above post. All the manuals are still there as he stated.

Same issue I noticed. I had saved many of the older parts list/instruction sheets for older 4 digit items. Tried searching for about a dozen or so items with PNs like xxxx or 6-xxxx. Not a single search result for any item.
Last night I visited the Lionel site in order to see the wiring instructions for the 6-12915 Log Loader. Discovered that the site was updated and all that appears when I searched by the item # was an exploded drawing. There was no link to any other documents at the bottom of the page. So far, my assessment of the upgrade is, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

It looks like adding these back in is a work in progress.
I searched by entering "Supplement" in the search box, but only one hit came back. It was for Supplement 26. On the page for Supplement #26 there is no place to click in order to download it yet, but the part number for it appears to be good.
Give them some time and we'll hopefully be golden at some point.

I just used the known good link provided by @ed h above for Supplement 26 and changed the 26 to a 41.
Looks like they're up to #37, #38 to #40 41 seems to come up with an error.

Seems like this new parts and support website needs quite a bit of work to find things that were easily found before.

The link I posted yesterday for supplement 26 has a different base url, similar format works for supplements 10 thru 37.
how do you get to the document search?I type in model number and get everything but the number.how would you get the older supplements
Does the item you are looking for have a product page ? For example 6-28062 Gold Hudson, search for 28062. There is only one search result. Click on the image or description link. Scroll towards the bottom of the next page, there should be a section labeled Support Documents and Videos, in that section is a link VIEW to the manual. see screenshot below.
One of the problems is that many items don't have a product page when searching. And without the product, page you are not going to find the manual.
