Lionel part needed for 6-17403 - Possible 3D printing? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have a Lionel 6-17403, Chessie Gondola, and it is missing one of the lift handles as detail in the first attachment. Looks like the part # is cs-6102844010-p. Lionel has it and the price is only $1.20 but I don't need anything and shipping would be the standard $10.

Wondering if this would be a good option for 3D printing. My local library has a 3D printer that I can use, but have no idea how to design the file.

Any help would be appreciated.

How thick is it? Looks like something that can be bent from a wire.

3D printed ones might be stronger but unlikely cheaper unless you design them yourself. Bent wire would be my choice too.

I know the $10 shipping sounds out of line, but, $11.20 really isn't going to break your bank in order to get your car back to its original shape!
