All,

I now have 4 steam and 2 diesel locomotives in my collection, along with a dozen or so various motorized units.  I would like to buy a Lionel Pennsy diesel that has the radio telephone wire along the top.  The presence or absence of command control isn't that important to me as is the looks.  Does someone have a recommendation?

Tom, never mind.  I was able to click on the links in the email from OGR. One was a shell and the other was a conventional engine. Decent price but I am a diehard command runner.

Wood,

I am sure there are command versions out there. The OP was looking for non-command for, what I am guessing, a display…

There are Command versions available in many roads names at the E site. Just search Lionel RS11…

There have been three releases of the Baldwin Sharks in different road numbers in PRR livery.

c. 2003 Lionel Century Club II 6-14532 AA Set #9744 and #9745. Additional B unit is 6-24510. Both AA units are powered with TMCC and feature RailSounds 4E and Odyssey. The B unit is unpowered but I think has a smoke unit and electro-coupler.  The units can be run separately with full command, though the second A unit is wired to start in reverse. These units are painted in DGLE (dark green) but the shade is too light IMHO. I own them, and they look good, but are definitely too green.

c. 2013 Lionel Legacy Sharknoses 6-34701 AA set #2020 and #2021. Only one A unit is powered. Additional B units were offered powered 6-34704 and unpowered 6-34705. These units are painted in DGLE (dark dark green) with the 5 stripe livery.

c. 2020 Lionel Legacy Sharknose AA Set 2133270 #9730/9731 and 2133260 #5780/5781. Both units powered, though I think the second unit has to be run with the first. Only the lead A unit has sounds. Powered B units were offered as well as SuperBass units. The 2133270 pair are painted in DLGE with a single stripe and PRR Keystone mid-unit. The 2133260 pair are painted in Tuscan Red 5 stripe with PRR Keystone at the front and are pure fiction. The Pennsy never painted any sharks that color. I own these ones as well (in DLGE) and they are really really close to black. IMHO it's a little too dark, but better than the Century Club II versions.

All versions above feature train phone antennas on A units.

No smoke in the Century Club B-Unit.  I have the parts to add smoke to mine, just hasn't come to the top of the list yet.
