Well, March has come and gone and no Preamble Express in sight. I called Trainworld today and they said maybe June. I am beginning to wonder if Lionel just does not want to admit that this item is cancelled.
Has anyone sen their New Haven coaches which the Preamble uses?

I received my Friendship Train coaches, which I think are the same style as the Preamble Express.
I pre ordered the Preamble set as well. Hoping it comes through. The coaches are the Reading ones, which I did receive all three sets already.

Don't feel bad. I am still waiting on the American Freedom Train (AFT) two 2-car packs. Supposedly delivered Dec 2020. Have checked several online dealers - not yet! I need these to add to my already 13 cars in the set.
Waiting here as well for PreAmble Express. The E-8 with 4 cars seemed to be the best deal in that catalog.

Just checked the outdated Lionel shipping schedule (I think it's dated Nov 6, 2011 2020 as the number at the top of the list is 201106). It's the same situation I'm in with the two 2-car American Freedom Train 2-car packs. They were supposed to be delivered in Dec 2020. Nothing yet!
FYI: I use TrainWorld as my place to know the latest scheduled delivery date. They are showing June 30, 2021.
Same situation for one of the AFT 2-car packs. TW says 2027340 is "New arrival" but nothing on 2027350.

Not sure if you were joking or not. Since there is no day/year/month or month/year/day formats being used, or used very little, that format is a fairly common year/month/day, or 2020 Nov 06. This is standard in China and other Asian countries. So that shipping schedule, while still old and out of date, isn't 10 years old.
Way back when I would monitor the shipping schedules of the different manufacturers but since they were always wrong (optimistic) I just stopped worrying about it. Just enjoy running the trains you have and (hopefully) your pre-orders will show up before you die.
As far as the Preamble Express is concerned, since other items with this style passenger car have been delivered, I wonder if the issue is the E8.
