I have in my collection a piece from the estate of an operator and have been trying to ID a Lionel product number. The piece came with no papers. Have tried Lionel Talk to Us and two distributors that I deal with who do custom runs, NO LUCK. The piece is a Milwaukee Road F3B unit based on the Lionel product released in the 2009 catalog page 16-17. The A-B pair is 6-34586 and the B unit is unpowered. The B unit I have acquired is powered and has Legacy, TMCC, and conventional operation, all function. As I indicated, no luck with Lionel ID' ing it. The distributors I contacted suggested the FORUM. It could be a shell swap with a powered B unit from that time frame which would make it very unique. Any help appreciated.

Would you be able to post pictures?
Freddy, I looked everywhere I know and could not locate a product number for your powered F3 B unit. The set is 6-34586 which included Powered A 6-34587 and Non-Powered B 6-34588. Also available separately is 6-34589 which is a matching powered A unit. Interestingly I located an older post selling a MR F3 Powered B unit (link).

If you look closely at this B unit the frame and trucks are black and don't match the A unit. I don't know if you acquired this same loco but it appears to be a Milwaukee Road shell on a different chassis.
I've never seen any Lionel product that looks anything like his photos!
Maybe better photos would help.
