The "latest" release of the Lionel Reading T1 is apparently equipped with an enhanced tooling design on the trailing truck making this version improved over the 2016 T1 release.
Can someone please share their experiences with this enhanced version based on comparisons with the earlier release?
Is the newer "improved" trailing truck available, and can it be retrofitted to the earlier engine, and is the end result worth the investment.

If I recall correctly. The first run T1 has the trailing truck tooling from Lionels Milwaukee rd s3 locomotive.
The more recent T1's have trailing truck tooling that is specific to the prototype.
From an operational standpoint either is o.k. The later one is cosmetically, more accurate.

I looked for the newer trailing truck part number on the Lionel replacement part site, in case I decide to swap it out, but no luck in identifying the new P/N.

They haven't listed the parts breakdown for the new T1 locomotives yet. I looked as well. 
Thanks GRJ........I'll continue to monitor the parts site with fingers crossed, hopefully the P/N breakdown will show up.......
I'm hoping they eventually put the number on the site as well as I'd like to get a prototypical truck. I've noticed they are not as fast loading parts as they used to be.
