I purchased one.  It is a nice unit - however -the walk ways had two strange looking vertical tubes with a right angle connector on top.  Almost looks like a periscope.  I looked at various pics of the prototype LV RS-11 and I can see nothing like these in the photos.

I wish I could take a picture of it.  It had shipping damage to the front of the engine - the handrails were bent and one of the above pipes was bent over at a 45 degree angle along with a missing lift ring.  The LHS where I bought it is waiting on a new shell from Lionel.  It is not the LHS problem - it is Lionel.  They check every week and get the same story from Lionel - the shells are in boxes somewhere - we hope to unpack them this week.  Great customer service as the engine has been paid for but no fix for 5 or so weeks now.

Once I get it back I will post some pictures.

Luther, I can assure you the shells are in fact in stock and available for the RS-11's. Have been for at least two weeks now, if not longer. The sharks and C-420's will be completed in the next 1-2 weeks. If you model is in fact an RS-11 then someone is not giving you all the details. Mike Lionel
