I have been trying to get this tube out of the top #455-41 Tube connector and can't get it out. It looks like there is a metal tab down inside. Is that tab crimping the top of the bubble tube?

It is just a friction fit in the pumper base part.
I suppose being inserted for 70 years it is going to be hard to pull out. Actually my wife got it pulled out today, so all is well. I am up to buying her three shrimp dinners, two were for finding parts that flew away.

Ain't it the truth?
Try as I might...failing eyesight, shakey hands, sore knees, short patience, blah, blah, etc., etc...when that irreplaceable part launches into never-never land, I have only one worthwhile response (amidst a mumbled collection of 'blue' commentary!).
DEB!!
I just got the PW version. May I ask, why do you want to take the tube out?
thanks - walt
The bubble tube was not working sometimes it did but took a long time to finally bubble. Just like the Christmas bubble lights, those don't always start up on their own unless you take out the light and shake it. Impossible to do in the derrick. A new one works good, and I also seated the tube right down onto the bulb.
