I am replacing an Mth proto 2.0 speaker. The original wires are yellow and white. The one I ordered has red and black. Which splices to which? Thanks.

It doesn't matter.
Good to know, I figured maybe I'd ,per say , end up out of phase, but its not 2 speaker stereo so was assuming it wouldn't matter, but I'm not an electrical guru.
Normally, yel to positive and wht to negative, but as stated does not matter. G

If they aren't marked the smaller terminal is negative. If both are the same size and easy way to tell is to take MAX 1.5v battery and hook it up to both terminals momentarily. If the speaker cone moves OUT the + and - are correct. If it sucks in then they are reversed.

Unless you have a locomotive with dual speakers, polarity won't make any difference.
If you have two speakers, the polarity between them needs to be properly matched. That will depend on whether they're series or parallel connections, that varies based on the speakers used and the boards in question.
