Hi,

I have a Lionel JLC GG-1 whose pantographs have taken a beating over the dozen or so years that I've had it.  Will the Vision Line GG-1 pantographs work in the JLC model?  I've heard that they will and that they won't.  I'd expect to remove the wires for the arcing effect but will they function properly?  I've also heard that they are plastic and not metal like the JLC pantographs.

Thanks,

Lonnie

I take back what I said.  The JLC pan is very similar to the VL and IS screwed to the shell with, what appear to be the same screws (see attached picture).  The distance between the holes are: width 33.25mm; length 61.50mm.

The VL pan is not cheap ($85) ( part# cs-6802749020-p).  The VL has a diode to simulate arcing and is made a little different from the JLC version.  The two sides of the pan frame are isolated from each other and the levers at the bottom have wires, which you will not need.

When ordering the pan, the insulators (4) and screws (4) are not included.  The screws are M2x15 hex head.
