Hey everyone,
I have a board from K-Line. Written on it is MDK:T2410-XO12 from a K-Line 3790-4015S Big Boy. I cannot seem to find that board anywhere. It looks like the smoke resistor broke and charred some of the board and the batting inside. I cannot find this board ANYWHERE. I did find on Lionel's website a board, SKU: cs-691PCB1045-p. Would that work? They look REALLY similar. Any thoughts?

Measure the spacing of the mounting holes and we can determine that. K-Line used Lionel smoke units in many of their models, but they also had their own. I think the hole spacing for the K-Line smoke unit might be slightly different.
If the worst happens, you can probably stick a whole Lionel smoke unit in there.
Thanks Ill have to check. I was more concerned with he wiring but since TMCC is a Lionel product, Im hoping thats all OK. I cant find wiring diagrams.
Im also not sure why the resistor cracked. It was brand new 27ohm resistor, I installed it last week. First time that has ever happened to me.
If the resistor cracked and the PCB is charred, my guess is the smoke unit is receiving full track power. That usually happens when the smoke triac shorts and provides full-wave power instead of the expected half-wave power.

Put an 18V bulb on the smoke output, and then the same bulb across the track inputs. Try turning off the smoke with the TMCC/Legacy remote, the bulb should go out. If you can't control the smoke, and the other stuff works in command mode, the smoke triac is bad.
