I recently bought a Lionel NYC Mohawk from 1998 off of Ebay. It comes with Railsounds 2.5, but I wanted to upgrade the sound system to get 4 chuffs per revolution. Does anybody know how I could do this? Any information will be greatly appreciated.

You can mount 2 small round magnets on a drive wheel and install a reed switch to replace the stock microswitch. all this stuff is glued on carefully.

Do a search for threads by Alex Malliae, he has given instructions and posted pictures of how to convert older TMCC steam engines to 4 cuffs per revolution. He also does upgrades for a slight fee. He did my Lionel PRR M1a, J1a and Y3. All came out great. In fact on the 'Unexpectivly please with engine' tread he has a video of a Mohawk he recently upgraded.
