Lionel Strasburg 90 Numberplate

While I have nothing but good things to say about my Strasburg 90 (2000s version), I am not crazy about it having the black/while number plate on the front of the smokebox as most of my memories with the real 90 have the red/gold numberplate.

Has anyone looked into/tried swapping out the numberplate?

I'm sure you could but Lionel made the contrast so poor on the red number plates that you can't read the 90 from more than a few inches away. Just looks like a red dot.
