I just removed the power cord from a burned up Lionel transformer, number 1015 at 45 watts. Instead of the usual "L" or "LIONEL" molded into the cord's plug, it has "CORNISH." Is this a known variant? Or did somebody simply replace the original cord? The cord looks, smells, and feels similar to an original Lionel rubber cord. Thanks!

I've replaced cords on many things beside Lionel equipment, and the least expensive manner to do this is to purchase an extension cord and cut off the female end.  All cords are marked with a smooth and ribbed side, even if non-polarized, but in older non-polarized Lionel stuff, it really does not matter as the input to the transformers can be hooked up either way when being put together at the factory.  When you see that 'UL Approved' sticker on a cord, you may think it means the device is actually UL approved, when in fact, it is only the cord.
