Lionel’s new Vision Line Horse car. My wife and I live on and operate a 20 acre horse ranch so this was a no brainer purchase. It’s super Cool! A lot of sounds and has a sensor that activates when running over sensor track. Enjoy!😎

Neat derby references!
It's cool they made something that uses the sensor track!
Yes gunrunnerjohn, after programming the car number when I ran over the sensor track “REA Vision Horse Car” appeared at the top of my remote for a description and the freight car keypad was already loaded. 😎
Question about horse cars and cattle cars in general. I like to do interior modeling of freight cars. (Avoiding the poop joke that is soon to follow) what would the floor of a cattle car look like? Would it be bear wood or could you assume there would be a layer or straw down? Water troff? And photos out there some one could share?
@peter allen 072518 The NYCS Historical Society's photo archive has at least a couple interior shots.

@N&W 1218, Kevin, wow, now this brightens my day, I’m happy you started this thread and are enjoying this latest release of a VisionLine sound cars. My L&N version is at my hobby shop for Monday pick up, and hopefully, knock on wood, it will work upon my arrival. If not, it’s on the way back to the vendor. Your video is so Cool, the horse sounds are so great, the trumpet sounds were very crisp and clear as were the people talking, and the car itself looks beautifully painted, I’m excited. (Gunrunner John knows why I made the comment) If ok, I’ll post a picture of mine on this thread. Also, show more pictures of your layout when possible. Happy Railroading Everyone
Another cool feature I forgot to mention is using the whistle quilling to control the intensity and options of the vocal horse sounds. 😎 There’s a flat wheel option that you can turn on and it will keep getting louder and louder until you stop. Then after a few seconds the guy yells out flat wheel fixed. 😎 This is by far the most animated sound car I’ve owned. The sounds are nice and loud, crisp, not hard to understand. 👍🏻
The mass and construction of the car is exceptional with a very nice paint job. I went with REA because they didn’t offer roads that I have.

Does it have the squealing brake feature like the reefers?
If the car is moving and you've addressed it try sliding the train brake downward, intensity increases as the farther down the slider is.
I love that new sound cars are finally coming to O scale again. I think they will be a hit and add excitement.
I wish they were in 2 rail O as well. I have a wish list of stuff to convert to run on my RR.

Joe, you can simply transplant the electronics from the 3-rail cars, or just replace the trucks.
I didnt open mind yetbut doesone need a battery if running conventional?
The new Railsounds-Lite II boards they're using in current production have no provisions for a battery.

Remember, modern new 2022 railsounds may no longer have the battery capability. In fact, reading the manual- nowhere in it is any mention of the battery.
Also of note, do not power with DC. AKA don't slap this on a track powered with Lionchief DC wall power packs.

And, there is barely any mention of operation under conventional in the manual. These are meant to be command (TMCC/Legacy) and it even calls out features that can only be accessed under command.
The one section I found in the manual. Again, specifically calls out that scenes and functions that do not work in conventional.

RickO YES it has the squealing brakes and other features that you mentioned. I’ve also had questions about the baggage car behind the horse car. I posted info about it also.
Exciting features in these cars. This car's Christmas version (North Pole Central Reindeer Express) just showed up at my doorstep from Charles Ro. Hopefully, I'll have time to put it on the track and check it out this evening.
Hugo post some photos and a video👍🏻 I’d love to hear the Christmas sound set. 😎

Hugo, does yours have “snow” on the roof like the Polar Express version? If so, is the snow “thick” or just white paint? I have the black rook PolEx passenger cars and I’m trying to see if I could just paint the snow covered roofs black.
Just opened my PRR horse car and really like it. A problem I see is it does not roll well. I have oiled all wheels and pickup rollers, and the wheels spin freely but on the track it barely coasts with a good shove. Anyone else have this issue?

The snow is just paint. There is no thickness to it. I will be doing a review on mine either tonight or tomorrow. The good, the bad, and the ugly.
@CAPPilot, I just read your post saying your car doesn’t roll real well. I haven’t placed my L&N car into a train yet, but mine rolls freely by hand pushing and the couplers work. I use Atlas O track, flat rail, and I know many passenger cars, heavyweights and 18 inch aluminum passenger cars roll easier on this type track than on tubular track. My suggestion is if the wheels do not work good for you, get back with your dealer or Lionel. These cars are expensive, and should have no issues. Happy Railroading Everyone
