Recently I had gotten into collecting PFE reefers and had acquired a set of the first run of lionel visionline reefers. I was wondering if the cars on the later runs have different numbers than the first run? Also I was wondering If anyone is having trouble with your electro coupler on your sound car opening at random times. Mine does it all the time and I honestly cant figure out a good solution to fix it. Thanks for helping!
I have gone down that same rabbit hole. Some say I have too many PFE Reefers 
I can confirm they all have different road numbers. As for the coupler I personally have had more issues with the mechanical couplers on longer trains. For the electro couplers typically some noise in the line makes the triac on the RCDR fire the coupler. The fix is a 50v 1uf non-polarized capacitor across the coupler leads of I remember correctly
