Maybe the terms of agreement should have in bold "Ask the Mfr/seller before thinking about posting on this forum".

A lot less 'irritating/offensive' posting would occur.

Why would you ask this here? No one here is going to have a definitive answer to this.

Ask Lionel!

95% of the questions here are like this.  Without questions like this the forum would do a 1/4 of the bandwidth.

Why not email Lionel and see what they say? They read emails and usually reply promptly.

Post your findings here.

Not directed towards you Swafford, but somewhat related:

If I had a nickle for every post on the forum saying "cab light flashing, smoke unit quit", what does this mean?

And yet the "blinking cab light" diagnostic code is listed in the back of the owners manual for every legacy locomotive.

Not to mention, the legacy electronic diagnostics has been "standard issue" since 2010.

I expect a lot of "chatter" when I visit an online forum. Yes, there are times when it would be nice to have all but the meaty info filtered out but that's just not the nature of it.

As far as people posting the same questions over and over, my response would be:

Some people view it faster to post a question here rather than read the manual.

There are more than a handful of folks here that love to dispense good quality information.
