Lionel Wye Switches (6-16832 and 6-81954) - What’s the difference?

It appears that one of them comes with the traditional, wired remote controller, the other does not.

It's not strictly necessary of course, as long as you prefer to use your Cab-x to switch your turnouts, instead of the wired controller.

Newer (2016-2017) model 6-81854 is the "REMOTE/COMMAND CONTROL"

(2014-2015) model 6-16832 is the "COMMAND CONTROL"

Although I don't have the Wye's in these models. I do have some of each vintage in the O-72 lefts and rights.  Both model iterations do have wired remotes and the 3 1-3/8" fitter pieces.  Both also are programmable to respond to TMCC/Legacy commands.  There is a minor difference that I don't recall off hand, maybe something to do with LCS integration and/or position data.  Perhaps @MartyE could offer more insight.
