I am looking to add a Lionel Fastrack Wye switch to a location on my layout.  When doing a search, I noticed that there are two models of the Lionel Command O72 Wye switch - model 6-16832 and 6-81954.  The Lionel description is identical for each, and I have found nothing online or in this forum (at least not yet).

Is it just that one model is newer?

If they are both the same, then the 6-16832, which is cheaper on many sites, is the logical choice.

If anyone has any insight, I would a-precaution hearing it.

Newer (2016-2017) model 6-81854 is the "REMOTE/COMMAND CONTROL"

(2014-2015) model 6-16832 is the "COMMAND CONTROL"

Although I don't have the Wye's in these models. I do have some of each vintage in the O-72 lefts and rights.  Both model iterations do have wired remotes and the 3 1-3/8" fitter pieces.  Both also are programmable to respond to TMCC/Legacy commands.  There is a minor difference that I don't recall off hand, maybe something to do with LCS integration and/or position data.  Perhaps @MartyE could offer more insight.
