Got a question, If I want to use a Lionel 1044 transformer using / sharing  the same common as a ZW what is the common on the 1044?
Is it the B post with the circuit breaker??  And what post would you connect to the outside rails? The B post also.

Kind of confusing.

See the diagram at the top of page 6 in the attached pdf file (it’s actually the page numbered “Page 2”  in the operating manual).

Thanks guys, I got it now but reading the Lionel manual it sure is nutty the way they had so many different ways to hook up their transformers. I will give it a try today.

Up-date:

After hooking it up,,,,,It don't matter anyhow. I found out the 1044 is not big enough to run all of my accessories and the 8 car postwar set behind the Lionel 2065 Hudson on the new elevated level. Too many lights and other stuff pulling on it. Think I will just run that train off a LW.

Actually, if you are only using 2 posts on a transformer to provide a fixed voltage,* it doesn't matter.  When properly phased with your other transformers, common on the transformer is whatever is connected to the common circuit.

It's a little more complicated if you want to use 3 posts to provide two different fixed voltages, but it can be done.

*If you plan on using a handle to vary voltage, there are other considerations.
