Hi everyone, I would like to have pieces of rail to use as extra rail along side my track for the Maintenance of Way crew. I have Atlas track and would prefer to have the rail similar to that which is solid and T-shaped. I would prefer 10" pieces. I know I could buy some Atlas 10" sectional track and rip the rails off of the ties, but that would get expensive. Is there a source for rail pieces? I thank all of you in advance for your replies.

Ross sells rail in any length you want, including 10" pieces made just for what your doing.
One section of Atals or MTH flex track will make a good size pile of rail when cut into 10" sections. The profile will be better than old GG or Lionel tracks.

American Flyer S gauge track is available used quite reasonably.
Ross has solid alumnium rail that they use for their guard rails. They sell it in packs of 25 pieces. Item #912 for silver and #913 for black. they are 10" long and approximately 3/16" tall. They have a prototypical "T" rail profile. I bought a pack for just what you want them for.

My LHS shop sells it in any quantity. Mail order or online my be cost prohibitive, true.

Paul I have 8 pieces of the silver rails and 4 pieces of the black rails that are 10"
then I also have 2 4" pieces Then I have 3 3 1/2" pieces I know I have more but I cant find them. So I'll send them to you tomorrow. I hope this helps you out.
