Looks Like It Will Be A Big Boy Christmas After All!

Just got the call from Nassau Hobby that the Big Boys have arrived.

 

I will be picking up mine tomorrow.

Did you get an e-mail yet with tracking info? I ordered mine from Charles Ro too and my card has not been charged yet.

As did my card by Charles Ro for the Daylight Cab Forward.  (My bank account is now thanking me in SPADES for not ordering a Big Boy.  I have no regrets whatsoever.)

 

Sounds like the mother lode has arrived at all the big train shops. 

 

Anyone care to put a dollar-sign on the transactions buzzing along the Mastercard and Visa phone lines today...  Just by train dealers and LHS's???    These folks have gotta be smiling ear-to-ear when they look at today's receipts.     But not after what will be an extremely hectic and tiring day, for sure.

 

On the other hand, I completely understand why they're turning this stuff around with no time for any grass to grow under their feet.  Now that I think about, what else of any significance has shipped this year prior to November?  Perhaps I'm drawing a blank, but nothing comes to mind at the moment.  Lionel pretty much dumped everything into November/December.  Amazing.  Hope everyone budgeted their funds accordingly, 'cause it's time to pay the piper now.

Got the charge also from the big RO. I spoke with them about 30min ago and they said they were packing the Big Boys up as we speak so hopefully they will shup out today which means will have by tomorrow

David, I wanted that Daylight Cab Forward as well but wasn't in the budget due to Big Boy and scale PE and cars..lol

Would love to see pictures of the daylight if you care to share.

Well, if you guys would stop calling up the dealers today, perhaps they'll have time to ship them out!!!

Picking mine up on Christmas Eve.

Absolutely... although I'm expecting a post-Christmas delivery at this point.  Wednesday is a possibility from Boston to PA, but I'm fine whichever day things arrive safe and sound.

Being I'm in AZ, and Nassau is in NY, it'll be post Christmas for me too.  I'd be happy if it's still the weekend so that I have some time to play with it before I have to go back to work for a week.  Maybe I'll just have to call in sick...

Chris, i just received a pending credit card charge from Ro around 10am this morning.  I did not get the official email with tracking number......however it has been confirmed that the shipment has arrived there as well as Nicholas Smith Train and Nassau Hobbies.

in addition it looks like there are extras to be had if anyone decides to take the plunge today!

I called Charles ro today there charging credit cards and will be shipping them tomorrow so it's looking like Friday for me anyway.

I can hear it now... when calling dealers today, there's probably a new message on the automatic answering system... "IF YOU'RE CALLING TO INQUIRE ABOUT LIONEL'S BIG BOY, WE HAVE RECEIVED THEM AND ARE TRYING TO PROCESS AS MANY PRE-ORDERS TODAY AS WE CAN.  IF YOU'D LIKE TO PURCHASE AN EXTRA ONE, PLEASE STAY ON THE LINE AND A FRIENDLY CUSTOMER ASSOCIATE WILL BE WITH YOU SOON.  OTHERWISE, LEAVE US THE $#%& ALONE SO WE CAN SHIP YOUR ORDER."

Actually the card I charged mine on was expired that is why I called .

Good news all around. Hope as any as possible get them before Christmas. 

Mine will be here on the 30th.  So no Christmas, but at least Lionel kept the by year's end promise.

So they did not ship Monday? They are shipping Tuesday?

May there be "Big Boys" under every ones tree this year.

I spoke with them this morning and they are shipping out today what comes in today. The Big Boys had not arrived yet, but they were expecting them anytime. Based upon what members have reported about their CC being charged today, it looks like they are on the way.

you guys must have ordered before me as I did not get the credit card ping as of today.  my order went in on Oct 29, 3013.

"Oct 29, 3013."  No wonder your credit card never got a "ping." you have just preordered The Super Big Boy, Lionels  1000 th anniversary super Legacy reissue........only kidding, Bigdodgetrain......couldn't resist.  I am sure you will get notification tomorrow.  Ro is double boxing all his Big Boys and that takes time.

My dealer isn't going to have them until tomorrow sometime.  I can wait, been patiently waiting on this moment for over a year!  I remember when it was just 'rumor'!

Why?  What does "wait a bit" imply?  Just a couple of days to receive in shipping time?  Or they didn't receive your Big Boy yet?

I figured out what's coming my way from Charlie Ro via the pending charges on the credit card... down to the penny.  No UPS email here either, but it will likely hit the inbox tomorrow evening... with product arriving Friday or Monday due to the Christmas Holiday.

Thanks David, when I talked to Ro and company, they advised they had to double box the Big Boy inorder that it arrived safe and sound. I have no problem with that idea. You're probably correct in assessing the delivery date......just glad its coming.

The dealer sent me this picture, and said all my boxes are ready to be picked up! OH BOY! Lol

When I checked my email & saw the UPS Shipping Notification and tracking # I was surprised that I'd get mine out here "In the sticks" before Christmas!
