I’d first like to say “ Thank you” to the forum member(s), that saw my post on triacs last week , and reached out to me . In the conversations W/ them , I was able to get suggestions , and a great new R2LC code 7 at a good price to finally give me total satisfaction in “ upgrading these older locomotives . I now have a locomotive & RS equipped NYC from one of those “ early backplane MOBO error 4-6-2 Pacifics “, that was a scourge on Lionel’s part .
Suffice it to say , the only issue I was having was the “ chuff & squealing brakes” function , until on a whim I decided to pore over the “ instructions “, and I moved the jumper from the “ command” on the board pins , to the “ conventional” side of the pins. Low & behold , I got the “ chuff & squeal” working 😂. Everything else functions normally , smoke, headlight , blow off , and crew talk , tower com work fine . Electro coupler as well .
