I got a PRR A5 O-4-0 for Christmas, and just noticed the LVC button on my phone. The thing works great! What a fun, unadvertised, unexpected addition to my layout!

I really enjoy it too. My favorite feature is the grade crossing sequence with my steamers. Dave said theres a lot of “easter eggs” on one of the lionel live shows. I’d love to know if anyone has found controls other than those under the “help” menus. I think there is room for additional fun sequences to be added as well!
May I ask, What is the LVC button and what does it dooooo?
Lionel Voice Command. The train runs from vocal commands through the LionChief app.

Can you give examples of the kind of voice commands the engine responds to, ie, slow down, speed up, stop, stop smoking, reduce smoke, etc?
Arnold, This thread has some good info.
I've been playing around with it with my new 0-6-0 Switcher. Works well and am still discovering a few commands.
Arnold,
Your first command should be "HELP". A drop-down menu of commands will appear on your screen.

LVC seems like a fun little addition. Extra play value for free, you can't beat that. The start-up and crossing sequencing sound particularly useful. I hope the next catalog includes an updated 465 microphone that you can plug into your phone/device...you know, to make it official and everything. I'd feel silly barking orders into my phone. @Dave Olson
That’s an Awesome idea!

I have no idea why Lionel hasn't programmed the long, long, short, long whistle/horn sequence into their locomotives for years. It be nice to just hit one button and have it play that sequence.
MTH has done that for years with PS2 and PS3 in DCS. It's the "SXS" soft key. I use it all the time.
Not for nuttin', but isn't voice control as far from prototypical operation as one can get? Hand held and cell phone controls are a close 2nd.
Pull (or push) levers is the way to go IMHO. Combine that with sounds and functions controlled by real buttons and switches and - perfection?
Another nice feature is that when the help screen is displayed you can issue voice commands while reading them.
Try this command: “Two bits.”
Your engine’s whistle or horn will play “A Haircut and a Shave, Two Bits.”
Prototypical?—No. Fun?—Yes!
