My last motive power issue is Lou Redman voiced MTH Lehigh Valley Transit Trolley. PS-1, Cat# 30-2515.

This unit has a replacement electronic battery (not a BCR).  The unit derailed and I lost the sounds. Plus the reverse sequence became unreliable. I charged the capacitors for an minute or so at 11 volts, then shut the power and tried a feature 18 reset. All I got was some electrical static type noises out of the speaker. At the moment, it moves, but is locked in one direction, no reversing, and no sounds. Suggestions on how best to proceed, please.

Chris,

Then I suggest replacing the Battery with a BCR, in your P1 Street Car, as soon as my P2 South Hills Area Pittsburgh Street Car's battery starts to fade, I will replace it with a BCR also.  I am still looking for the P1 Turtle Creek Area, Pittsburgh Street Car, with Lou's announcements in it, if anyone happens to know where I can purchase one.

If you apply voltage (use 12-14V what initial sounds do you hear?   After startup or what ever occurs, manually raise Voltage to 18 and lower handle to about 10V and back up to 18.  Do you get one ding?  Try again and see if you get 2 dings.  If you do, keep doing this manually until you get to reset 18 and then do the horn button until garble bell goes clear, then press one more time.  At that point lower voltage to off, and raise to about 10V and the trolley should move.

If you can get it to move through reset states, the trolley needs to be tested by tech and possibly reset.   G
