I just noticed that the 18 inch New Haven passenger cars just delivered are made in Vietnam. Packaging is pretty impressive. Hard to remove the boxes from the outer carton as they are engineered to very close tolerances. Some crushed plastic inserts from shipping in one of the boxes but the passenger cars are undamaged by shipping and drop kicking . The packaging served its purpose.

Glad you are happy with your purchase. The first offerings from Vietnam were less than perfect. The two bay hoppers come to mind.
Vietnam is quickly becoming a common place of manufacturing. Other hobbies I enjoy also have the manufacturing going that direction. I don't see Made in China as often as I did.
It's funny how things change',, I fought in Vietnam in 1970-71. Have several combat injuries. I must say though' I ordered two bathroom Vanities from HD, both manufactured in Nam. The quality is outstanding over all. The only exception is a broken draw mechanism on each one. A nice change from seeing China on everything.... Haven't received any rolling stock from Nam.
I should add that the cars are very nice. Lots of figures inside, LED lighting, flawless paint job. Couplers seem to work...Pre-order price wasn't too bad at about $300 for the two cars, pre-pandemic inflation of course.
How 'bout some photos plz?

Along with the express reefers with the milk containers inside. Those are the ones with the couplers that are incompatible with almost anything else.
Once again there are those of you, some of whom make it a habit, that just can't help but turn a conversation into a political or semi-political rant further turning the conversation into personal bantering. I removed and/or edited comments here and now am closing the thread.
