I currently have a Tmcc SW9 switcher in Maine Central...just wondering what other MEC engines 1950 thru 60's were used on their line. And who would be carrying the Maine Central Tmcc engines..thanks

EMD F7's GP7 Alco RS2&3, S2&4 switchers and GE44toners also EMD SW's.Weaver and MTH has made models in Maine Central.
Not to hard to figure out what railroad I favor. Engines from Atlas, Yoder, Weaver, Williams and Lionel (repainted/redecorated RS11).

Sunset Models made E-7 A units in Maine Central.
These 2 are on my "to do" list. Both of them are unique and classy.

Well...it's looks like Iam in luck !! I forgot ...I do have the Atlas Maine Central Caboose too.. thanks for the pics
CCN,
What did you use for MEC Harvest Gold? I used some Accupaint I had in the past and you had said it was not the right shade of yellow. I would like to know what you use so I can get some of it ordered.
Thanks, Malcolm
Malcolm,
I used Polly Scale water based Harvest Gold with no tweaking (but it could use some). I also use their Pine Green but that needs to be darkened up some. Should be the same color as the lettering. |If I recall, the color on the caboose was close to yellow. MTH painted their's almost that same shade. Here is the repainted Lionel RS11.

I found a couple of bottles of the PollyS. It was a little difficult to find. I am assuming PollyS is being discontinued by Testors as is Floquil. I hope I am wrong even though I hate painting with waterbase paint.

Check with Norm's O Scale, he usually favors MEC and at times comissions special runs.
Malcolm,
For what it is worth, I attended the Big E show and I was able to purchase both MEC Harvest Yellow (TCP_103) and MEC Pine Green (TCP_102) made by an outfit called Tru-Color. They come in one ounce plastic bottles and it is a solvent based (acetone) paint. I checked them against my Polly and they look even better. Green is darker and yellow more vibrant. May what to give it a try. I got mine from Nick & Nora Designs, www.nickandnoradesigns.com or www.trucolorpaint.com
Out of curiosity, does anyone have the Maine Central E7 by Sunset / 3rd Rail? There were only 25 done in this paint scheme in two and three rail combined.

Jonathan,
