guys. I have been looking for sources on billboard inserts for modern todays advertisements. its hard to get things to fit in the Lionel billboards. I tried some local venue websites, but graphics are not clean and blurry when I print. anybody have sources on decent prints that I can download? Beer, cars, whatever.

google the category you want (e.g. auto signs), then go to images (not the google listings). transfer the image to word and you can then size it to whatever suits your need.

I can help you with the older ones, modern...not so much.

You just have to find high res images to print. I have done this before on HO. No need to put into word, you can size just fine in microsoft paint, as well as cut and paste. Just right click the photo after you download and select edit for it to come up in paint.
Or cut and paste magazine or other adds and take to the copy center to size & print.

thanks guys. I guess I have to keep looking at different graphics and pictures and find the one that will work. I only tried a few restaurants. what I am trying to do is do some pittsburgh advertisements. Iron City beer, and a local favorite Primanti bros. some others. thanks for the suggestions. Ill be searching. when Im finished I share the ones I find work.
Nothing wrong with taking your own pictures either. I have done that with some restaurants and things I wanted on my layout and simply cropped and re-sized as necessary.
Here is a scene I did that with for the signs. The Dr. Pepper sign is off the web, however the other signs on the structure and the one that is is not face own were made from my own pictures I took.
very nice. Its hard to just find some pics straight on. some I found are on angles from a car! others I can use. I might just take my own pics. that is a great idea. then you can stand head on sometimes depending on the location.

I just want to follow this topic for a bit. I recently bought an Orange and Dark Green (soon to be Orange and Dk. Blue/Indigo) MTH Passenger Station and I want to use more modern (or more original) billboards in the 2 Station Platforms.
What I have in mind is something like a Southern Railway ad, or maybe something promoting an accessible-by-rail travel destination, like Washington D.C. or Texas. Other options include promoting a modern-era company like FedEx ("vintage" Federal Express also OK), Charlie Vergos' Rendezvous (best BBQ to be had in Memphis.), or McDonald's. An up-to-date beer/liquor ad would be cool too (Budweiser, Coors Light, Jack Daniels).
