Malfunctioning sound

On monday i recieved a new lionel texas special sd70 from 2011. When i started and still now the sound unit makes a buzzing noise.

But now after about five minutes the sounds will just stop. Everything towercom, crewtalk, engine roar, horn, bell, brake everything will

just stop. And since yesterday the sounds start out lower than they should and i cant bring up the volume even though the volume nob in

the engine and the buttons on the cab-2 it just stays low. I might have added too much smoke fluid but im not sure what to do. Need assistance

If it's still under warranty, I'd suggest sending it back to Lionel. Unless you're really confident in taking the shell off, it's probably going to be hard for you to diagnose this.

My southern heritage sd70ace brand new did the same thing after about 5 minutes...sound went down to just barely audible. I called and sent back to lionel yesterday. I did not add smoke fluid to mine.

THanks everybody. Probably by next week i will send it back to lionel. I already got my Ra number so it will soon be fixed. Also it seems it is happening to alot of lionels newer sd70 type engines. I guess lionel screwed up somewhere. But thanks again.
