I am thinking of routing the signal back to my control panel to indicate which way they are set. What is the best way to do that?

I have attached a picture of the backside of a Fasttrack manual switch 6-12018. There are a few connections for Aux power and lights. I could not find anything on this in the manual.
Has anyone noticed these before? Has anyone used them successfully?

I think that's just the same plate that the remote switch uses, which has the provisions for those items. Note the cable clamps are there for the remote cable as well. Looks like the only difference is they stamped "MANUAL" on the switch cover.
You are so right (unfortunately)! Bummer.
I opened up the switch yesterday and found that there are NO connections from which to get the turnout direction. It actually looks very plain. Just the back cover (and print) must be identical to the remote switch.

I have a couple of manual switches and am planning on moving them to spots where I have a hidden turnback loop. They work great for that.
I'll bet you could rig up a couple of micro-switches inside to indicate switch position. I've never looked, as I have no manual ones, but I'm sure it's possible.
In the March 2008 issue of TTOS's The Bulletin, I described an easy way to convert Fastrak manual switches to remote operation. The conversion would also provide an indication of switch direction for panel lights.

I know this post has been a while, but I would also be interested in how to convert the manual switches to remote. Could you email me the article at jsstamper23@gmail.com? Thanks.
