MartyE,

As you know I run both DCS & Legacy, however I have never owned any Lionel TMCC Engines.  Having just purchased a JLC GG1 with TMCC/Odyssey, I would like to know the exact programming steps required to add my JCL GG1 into my Legacy Cab2 Hand Held Remote Control.  I looked in the Lionel Educational Video's, however I could not find the exact steps required to program the TMCC engines, into my Legacy Cab2.  If you can give me the exact steps, I need to accomplish this, I would really appreciate it.  I did manage to program the GG1 into the Cab2, but have no idea whether I did it correctly.  Would you please write the steps out for me, so I know exactly how to program the TMCC GG1 into the Legacy Cab2.  I use the Legacy modules when I program my Legacy Engines, no modules to TMCC Engines.

MartyE,

Thank you sir very much, however I am not sure just what the Program/Run procedure really is, never used it before, after I enter all this, do I then push the Set Button at the bottom of the Cab2, this should give me a horn blast, that means the program worked, Correct?  Or do I need to push the Set button after I enter each different entity, Eng, type ect, after switching back to run, not to sure how this part works.  The module usually enters most of this stuff for me with my Legacy Engines.

Place the RUN/PGM switch in the PGM position. Place the engine on the track and power up the track. On the CAB2 remote enter a TR or ENG ID that you want to assign to the engine. Any # between 1 and 99 will work. Press SET and the loco should give you one horn blast to acknowledge the newly assigned ID. Turn off track power and set the RUN/PGM switch to RUN and operate the engine as you would normally.

After that, you can then edit the locomotive name, type, operating mode, etc on the CAB2. For a TMCC engine with Odyssey I speed control TMCC mode is probably best. Choose the sounds that this engine will support, which in this case, is Railsounds. These parameters can be found by pressing the INFO key on the remote. No need to press SET when scrolling through and selecting the appropriate options.
