Happen to catch a Marx Scale (3/16) Caboose on E bay that is marked Pacemaker 20116. This does not have a cupola and looks like the bay window style caboose without the bay window. I looked in my Greenberg's book and can't find it and have never seen one before. Is this a Marx oddball?

I just looked at the pictures again and I now see where there was a cupola on this caboose but the number still doesn't make sense to me. My mistake
That series caboose came numbered 20110 thru 20124, Came 4 wheel or 8 wheel. I had all the numbers at one time.
Thanks Steve for the reply. I never knew they made so many of these.. Learned something new today....
another great lesson from Prof Eastman.

the Marx NYC 3/16" scale caboose is actually a smaller model numbered only 20102 and despite the Greeenberg price guide listing, i don't believe it was ever factory made as an illuminated version. this confusion might be due to the Marx 6" tin NYC "illuminated" caboose with the same number.
the NYC 20110-20124 caboose series is categorized as 7" tin. my guess is that with this size, a 3 x 5 pattern could be printed on a standard metal sheet size, each car with a different number. Eight different roadnames appeared on this style caboose, but only three came in a 15 number series... the NYC in red/gray "Pacemaker" livery already mentioned, the B&O in blue/silver colors (C-504 thru C-518) and my favorite, the Yellow/Red/Black 7" KCS caboose (#966* thru #980). the KCS caboose was the only one of those three available only with a 4-wheel frame.
*an error in the Greenberg Marx Price Guide that's never been fixed, the KCS series does in fact range from #966 thru #980 and not #969 thru #980 as listed...
cheers...gary

That style of caboose also came as a 4 wheel Nickel Plate piece. I have one, but I converted to 8 wheel with scale trucks.
