I got this the other day, it is the first one I have ever seen. I have heard that they are fairly scarce. I believe it is from 1955

I've never seen one myself; I like it!
I've got one on the outer loop of track on my layout. The inner loop has a bascule bridge. I've always assumed that the Marx hand-cranked bridge was an attempt to market a low-cost alternative to Lionel's bascule bridge.
I have seen one. Don't have any motors to burn out?
i have one i found on ebay last year, that i'm trying to find a place for. it's so typically marx: low cost, low tech, but wicked ingenious and creative and just very cool. the crank action has a nice feel to it.
I almost purchased one on eBay last week for my son just because I thought it was different. Did you get it there?

The 1392 lift bridge is not that uncommon. Many are missing the short end pieces of track which yours has. Still a good find. I've had one for years, maybe this layout rebuild I will find it a spot.

Here is a photo of the Lionel Bascule Bridge side by side on my layout with the Marx lift bridge, for comparison purposes.
