At the moment, I've taken a keen interest in the Marx streamliners. Even in what little I have, I see difference in colors and i have a set of the green and cream with plastic wheels..difference in sqaw bonnet, ect. I have a Pocket guide but it doesn't give the different variations and their age which is what I'd like to determine. Are there any books or DVD's out there that would give me insight on variations and their age? thanks, jeff

Walt Hiteshew's website has some interesting information on Streamliners
http://toyandtrainguides.com/marxtin.htm He also sells CDs with much more information on early Marx 6-inch and Joy Line, and is in the process of producing a CD for 7-inch and Streamliners as well.
thanks Jim. I've been to Walt's site. I've seen cd/dvd's of Marx info out there. Just none that seemed to involve streamliners.
Unfortunately, the best info source is Greenbergs Marx Trains, Vol I.

Well, you could always buy a copy, write down the pertinent information, and resell it. They always sell. It's such a nice book, though, I'll bet you would want to keep it.
I have a book by Eric Matzke "Greenbergs guide to Marx trains" if you tell me the catalog number for both the M10000 and M10005 or the years I can tell you the colors of the body ,roof ,trim ,grill etc. I also may be able to make copies of the pages and mail to you.
I just posted 2 Marx books on the for sale forum that might help
