What is Joe's trains you are probably asking. To us Marx collectors it is great news!!!!!

I just returned from the Marx Show and Tell at York. I was late due to slow service at the "Smoky Bones" restaurant. I gentlemen named Joe ( I forgot to get his last name) was explaining how he acquired the molds from Ameritrains and will be producing them in the near future. He had some examples of scale box cars that will be available soon. I will keep the group informed as I get more Information. MARX gets reborn again!!

Wow.I sure hate to be a wet blanket , but this news has been around for a bit , I have crossed my fingers however as we bought a lot of the 90s production and love it, we were lucky enough to even get a few of the special York sets and some other specials and it has been one of the few newer production trains to hold or even in some cases increase in value unlike the other two big guys trains [ this info for the investor type, we know your there]. but I personally fear the cost of production in this economy may price new train costs through the roof, and if there still hauling stock that is some 10-15 yrs old around it inst setting any sales records. All said we certainly would like to wish any mfg of true tinplate litho trains the very best of luck. PS look here for some ideas.sunsettrainsandtoys.com/store/ Gary Lisa and the Girls
The person showing a few samples and giving the pitch at York is Joe Bender. He says he bought the tooling and leftover parts in April of this year. I have e-mailed him and invited him to introduce himself to the New Marx/Ameritrains Group. I see he joined, but has yet to post. I've been waiting a long time, I can wait some more. Hopefully something good will come of it all. As said, this is a very tough economy to be starting a new business venture.
I do have some of Jerry's stuff from Sunset Trains & Toys also.

I sincerely hope this works out and comes true!

I got into the hobby in 2007 and discovered "New Marx"/Ameritrains just in time to see them disappear. I have a marvelous Army set with extra cars (thanks again, Allan!), and a CTA set I purchased from eBay this year.

I really like the small set boxes: easy to stack and store, they don't take up much space. Smile
It may or may not happen. The reasons given by the naysayers are certainly valid. But many business successes started with what was considered a foolhardy idea by many. If people could once be convinced to buy pet rocks, a renewed effort to produce Marx Trains could succeed. I bought a an engine and over a dozen cars from the Flynns, and anyone who attempts bring back the product line can count on me as a steady customer. The more complex the scale segment of O Gauge becomes, the more I seem to be attracted to Marx-style trains. Smile
I was at the Marx show and tell, where Joe introduced himself and explained what he had and what he intended to do. What I walked away with is that he will be building these trains by himself, he already knows how to use the tooling (though he said he was working on trying to figure out motors) and has stamped a few hundred boxcar bodies already. He raffled off a few pieces there, and had 4 boxcars that were leftover Ameritrain products to show as well.

He made it sound like he knew little about toy trains until he recently acquired these tools, and it sounds like he educated himself quickly. He said he was going to put the scissor couplers on the 3/16" cars and tab and slot on the 6" cars.

I am pretty excited about this news, and can't wait to support this new business.
